Rockland County Traffic Safety Board announces the purchase of a Driving Simulator to educate local students about the dangers of texting while driving.

The Rockland County Traffic Safety Board (TSB) invites the media and the general public to see a demonstration at the Legislative Chambers located at the County Office Building. It is the intention of the TSB to coordinate with area high schools and bring the portable simulation machine to each and every high school. Students will get a first- hand view on how difficult it is to “text” while driving. The driving simulator mimics the experience of operating a motor vehicle while the student attempts to use a cellular telephone.

There is also a driving while intoxicated module that will be utilized by the STOP DWI Program. This Driving Simulator will also be brought to local police agencies to train officers on emergency vehicle operations.  Full Details
